I design and direct games for Somatic Vision. We primarily make games for use with biofeedback, but our latest game, Tropical Heat, a jet ski racing game, is for regular gamers and is available on PC/Mac and will be available on ipad and iphone soon.

Its going to be interesting to see how Peter Jackson managed to make the King Kong plot last over 3 1/2 hours.

I've been enjoying the production diaries over at www.kongisking.net/index.shtml. If you're at all interested in how these types of movies are made, they go into a lot of detail.

Unfortunately they've had to take down the diaries that were made during filming due to the DVD version coming out soon. But the post-production diaries are still there, and continually being added to.

Is there any option to install the QuickTime mov player without all the iTunes associated crap... or is that the new price of viewing MOVs nowasays... 32 megabytes of unused stuff on the drive...

... and the 2 iPod processes that they install, one as a SYSTEM service.

There are some MOV codecs you can find that will play them in windows media player so you don't have to go through apples crap, but its something you shouldn't have to do.

If anyone knows a better way I'm interested :)

Yeah, it was a pain to download the new Quicktime. It was buggy and I had to retart my computer the get it to finally work. But it was worth it. The trailer for King Kong kicks ass. I especially like how over the top Jack Black is as an old school film producer. That is how they talked back then if you ever see anything from back then.
