Probably a stupid question :)

Hi guys.

I am programmer (my art is terrible) but since I have trouble finding level designer i will have to learn some basics (at least until prototype is done) so I am asking you to recommend me one of the tools.

I really don't have experience in level design (except 3DGS wed which is fairly simple to use). I tried quark, build a few rooms, but honestly quark is pain (at least for me). I have tried CS but since save feature is disabled I was wondering how final result looks in TGE. If you have any example please send me (pictures, or some dif) I promise that I will delete them after viewing.

Anyway CS looks easier then quark (again I might be wrong) so basicly I am asking for your opinion.

Also is there any news on constructor (that should be the same thing like CS right?)

Thanks in Advance.

Denis

I bought 3d World Studio and it does pretty good. I am hearing that constructor will be the tool that will take care of our .dif woes. We will see. However for now 3d World Studio is what I use and it does pretty good. The price is kinda high and it does lack some features that would be nice to have. My suggestion would be keep working with quark and hone those building skills. It will at least give you some practical experiance in building brush based models. So when constructor does release you will have the basic concepts down and can begin to apply what you have learned. If money is not that big a concern go ahead and get 3d World Studio. It is a tad easier to build with and is similar enough to quark that you will not be totally lost.

Try DeleD lite it is free and they have demo plugin to export the dif. The export is limit to 25 brush in demo version but that alot brush. DeleD will convert the map to dif so there no fiddle with outside convert. It is easy to user plus you not wasting money before constructor. To me 3d world studio is to much money just to put down when constructor come out.
