TSE Compilers

Hi!
I've been a longterm user of TGE, learned quite a lot from it over the years. I've been using the Torque Build Environment of late, though, not a MS studio. Been contemplating buying the TSE license, to start learning to use that. I'm more of an artist than a programmer, so the idea of the expanded rendering ability TSE gives is VERY appealing. ;)
Before I go buying it, I was wondering what compilers are currently supported? I'm willing to go purchase an MS studio if I need to, but I've been sort of avoiding it for quite a while... What other compilers have been used, and which ones work best?
Thanks in advance for any help or advice on this!
