Is there some open spurce project in T2D?

i am trying to programm an RPG game, and i would like to see some open source project based on Torque 2D, so i can learn and compare scripting code.

any comments may help, thanks a lot!

T2D is closed source. Even more so than TGE because the license agreement stipulates that you may not distribute your game without deleting all of your .cs files.

Yup, best you can hope for is to team up with other T2D developers and share ideas/code through the forums or TDN once it's out of beta.

TDN will make a community T2D game very feasible :)

Matthews 30, i plan on using TDN to do an "open source" game, but for selfish reasons it will be written in C# using t2d.net

i think it's a great idea obviously, or else i wouldnt be planning it myself.

So if you want to make it happen for t2d (torquescript) then start it yourself. if you dont mind using t2d.net then i can work with you on it.

Just watch out so you don't run into any licensing issues. And what do you mean by open source in quotes? Something that's communicty-centered like most open-source efforts, but not really open source? I can only guess.

I'll definately be starting and/or reviving a T2D community project in the future, so you should have two options, a t2d.net one (which is awesome especially since there will be limited resources in t2d.net) as well a torquescript one... drop me an e-mail if your interested in the later.

@Matthew L: I would very much like to participate in a T2D community project. My main skill is with programming but I might be able to whip up some tunes as well... :)

I had kicked around a community Realm Wars T2d concept a while back.

Also we tried to do a community project once and it turned commerical real fast
or it dissolved. I don't know what happened to it. They wanted a much more radical
design.

What I suggest is that a community project be done with T2d and script only. No C code
mods. KISS .. Keep it simple concept.

Edit: Agree that it's documentation should be done in TDN.

Additional ideas:

If it was RWt2D..

Could be the RPG tutorial in TDN?

The orc has to go into a dungeon. Kill some mobs. Get better weapons
and ding a few levels. Eat dogfood for health etc.

Then he kills a mob boss or two to end the game.

And then it says "GAME OVER --- INSERT COIN".

Here is some background on the original Realm Wars Community project
