OpenGL calls or Toque dGL?

I have written some code in opengl for Torque and am now wondering if I should be doing it with gGL or whatever Torque uses to abstract the graphics calls. Can I just get away with doing this in OpenGL for everything? I mean it IS the most cross platform graphics library there is.
