Dare I Ask - Release Date T2D?
by Mitchell Vincent · in Torque Game Builder · 09/28/2005 (6:00 am) · 22 replies
Yes, I did search before I posted this - I couldn't find much information on it from GG, so I'll just come out and ask.
As a new T2D purchaser I'm very curious when T2D will become "final". Are there any ideas or even best guesses from the GG people?
Thanks guys!

"When it's done" - hey, that's what I tell all of my customers. I understand, believe me! T2D serious kicks butt, so it's worth the wait.

I post many threads about the T2D engine.
Many functions need to improve , if it is, we will have a more stronger engine in the 2d region.
Thanks the developers and designers .
Wish you can release it as soon as eariler.

Wait...so we may have to wait until 2006 for a version of T2D which is ready to be used in commercial games?

Months, not years (but maybe "year", as in next year!).

Anyway, whether they release it tomorrow or two years from now we're no worse off during that time in between. Let them take their time.

He meant "year" as in "possibly 2-3 months from now... at the "new year".Anyway, whether they release it tomorrow or two years from now we're no worse off during that time in between. Let them take their time.

As far as I am aware (and I get roughly weekly updates), the next release is really close. Private branch integration for several areas of development (some of the TGE 1.4 functionality, Melv's major development efforts, as well as some other areas of enhancement) have uncovered some mutually incompatible merges that are being refactored and tested.
As always, no delivery date promises, but we can move "months and year" down to "weeks and months".

Would you happen to know how the 1.1. 'preview/alpha' release fits into that estimate? Also I had understood the 'next year' time-frame to refer to the non-EA release and not really the closer 1.1 that's been talked about a lot. Can you or someone else clarify a bit if you get a chance?

I'm going to go out on a limb here (and probably be chastised by Josh tomorrow!), but the community should be seeing 1.1 preview/alpha in the next several weeks barring any catastrophic bug discoveries.

Seriously, it's really close guys, just need to iron out some stuff.

I still have wiggle room! I said "several" which can equate to "6-8", which is 2 months /duck.Seriously, it's really close guys, just need to iron out some stuff.

It's exciting. I think we have only scratched the surface on T2d. I am gonna put in a better effort with 1.1.

Thank you bring our a good news.
We are looking forward to the next releasion. And it has more stronger functions. lol
For example, the network and the double-bytes support etc.
About the version, you can release it in the private forum, and our members will test it together. And give you some suggestions, help it to perfect.
This is my suggestion. lol
Waiting ... the next version ...
