Heylo,
I am currently thinking of buying a laptop computer and a major factor in my decision making is what computer will be best for Torque. In your opinion, given a choice between a PC or a MaciBook or MacPowerBook, what do you think would be the best for game developement using Torque?
Thanks abunch,
Eric

It depends on what you are accustom to. I myself prefer to develop on Windows, because I'm more accustom with the tools, then I port to other systems.

I'm using a powerbook, and it works well for me. It's all about what *you* want. Torque itself is equally capable on all its platforms, and probably shouldn't influence your decision as much as the development tools on those platforms. Personally, I despise trying to use windows or visual studio, and have linux and solaris boxes at home and at work, so that was pretty much decided.Gary (-;

Personally, I develop on the PC because I'm more familiar with the wide variety of good content development tools... Then I port to the other OS's... but during the porting process I fell in love the the Mac and I'm looking into what content tools exist for it...

There are more tools available for the PC than the Mac. And soon it won't make a difference anymore (sigh :-( ).

As far as it hurts me to say so ( I'm a Mac user ) you'll be better off with a PC than a Mac. There are more tools available for the PC than the Mac. And soon it won't make a difference anymore (sigh :-( ).

There are certainly fewer tools available on the Mac side, but they do exist. Once Constructor comes out (sigh), along with 1.4, then I think that will be less of an issue.

I agree that the main factor is probably what tools are available and which you are comfortable using.There are certainly fewer tools available on the Mac side, but they do exist. Once Constructor comes out (sigh), along with 1.4, then I think that will be less of an issue.

more tools, more community members (on garagegames), and it has the largest market share if you want to get a game working and not spend the extra 5% of time it takes to port to different OS's.

Well if you want "best" as far as ease of use, then go windowzemore tools, more community members (on garagegames), and it has the largest market share if you want to get a game working and not spend the extra 5% of time it takes to port to different OS's.

Didn't someone here say that something like 55% of GG's game buying customers use the mac versions?
