Need a ride to IGC? (MI to OR)

by Justin Kovac · in General Discussion · 09/23/2005 (11:37 am) · 10 replies

Just thought I'd be a nice lad and let everyone know if anyone needs a ride to IGC and is on my way from Michigan to Oregon, I'd be fine to make arrangements to pick you up. I'm leaving the 4th (because of work) and hope to make it there by the 6th or the morning of the 7th. I appoligize for the late notice but if anyone is strapped let me know. The route I'll be taking can be found here: Click Here
I'd be willing to swing a little out of the way (1 or 2 hours) but I still need to worry about making it on time. You can either reply here or email me at kovac1274@gmail.com (email preffered, I check it more). If not, I'll see you all there!

I've gotta say, I don't envy that drive... I drove from Los Angeles to Portland last year... took 12 hours, and I was ridiculously tired afterward.

I can't even imagine what a 23 hour drive would be like.

O.o'

Good luck though :)

Actually, it's 36 ;) . I know flying out there would be the wiser if I were just going out there for IGC but I'm staying a few months to intern at GG as well so I'm sure I'll need my vehicle out there. Ride is still open to anyone who needs it!

Wow thats a long drive, 14 hours from Phoenix to San Francisco for GDC was hard enough for my team and I.

I drove from Philly to Eugene...48 hours of driving over 4 days..now THAT was fun!

Thanks for offering the ride, hopefully someone can help you share the driving time.

I drove with a packed vehicle from the Florida Keys, to Eugene... 60 hours of driving or more. Bring books on tapes, it keeps your sanity. You can "rent" books on tapes from any Cracker Barrel restaurant. You "purchase" the books on tape and then you can sell them back to another Cracker Barrel minus the $3.50 "rental charge". That is if you're mainly going one way. If you're on a return trip, most libraries will have tons of books on tapes.

I heartily endorse the book on tape suggestion. I did 44 hours from Charlotte to Eugene and had a nice 40 hour book on tape that made it go *way* better!

Book on tape eh? I might just have to do such a thing... now I just need to think of what I'd want to listen to for 40 hours. I'll assume I need it as no one seems to need a ride thusfar. It's still open if you're interested!

I'm never going to complain about driving in England again...

Yeah, everyone else has already said it, but books on tape are great for the drive!

I'm a big music lover, but I think stories help pass the time better and kept your mind more active.
