HELP: nipy15b.exe doesn't install

by Jon Ray · in Torque Game Engine · 09/19/2005 (10:58 pm) · 1 replies

Working from the first book CD, I copied nipy15b.exe over to my harddrive and attempting to install this after installing QuArK 6.3. I'm getting this error and have no idea how to fix it and have found nothing in the forums through searches.

Windows cannot find 'grpconv'. Make sure you typed the name correctly, and then try again. To search for a file, click the Start button, and then click Search.

I get this after running nipy15b.exe. Even if I find grpconv, which I've tried and can't find anyways.

Can someone help me out here?

Well.. I'm not sure whats going on.. but I discovered a workaround incase anyone else comes across this problem.

- Unpack the nipy15b.exe with Unzip(WinZip) to its /directory.
- Copy the directory to the Quark 6.3 folder
- Run the Python.exe file inside the directory
- While it is still running, try and launch Quark

This finally got the splash screen to come up and I was able to get into working, but kinda spotty QuArK. After doing this one time, I don't have to run the Python file before starting Quark. You'll be able to launch Quark on its own after trying this once.
