as I know nothing about mac ..
I am wondering if there is a cross platform solution to compile the torque for Mac ..
all I have is a PC and a friend wants to run this on the mac how can I compile my copy of the source for his mac?
is there a way?

You'd have to compile on his mac with mac compiling software or just downlaod the test app for mac and give it to him and put in your scripts. I already asked this cuz i thought it would be easy to solve but its not.

the extended answer is in another thread (search for it), but the basic answer is "you could cross compile using Metrowerks, but it has never been tested that way, and getting it over to a mac with resource fork intact is pretty complex. and if you have a Mac, and you have the version of Metrowerks with the cross compiler, then you have the Mac compiler tools and should just build on the Mac directly."
