Following my article on Music4Games.net, I've been asked to write a feature on music in the independent games scene for Computer Music.

If anyone would like to take part and get their name (and game) in a magazine with a huge distribution, then please could you email me with some information, and answers to the following questions:

Name:

Company name:

Current project:

Company's achievements and past projects:

Your musical achievements and past projects:

Your age:

1.) How did you get into composing music for indie games?

2.) What do you feel are the advantages of this kind of work?

3.) The disadvantages?

4.) Are you receiving any payment for your work, and if not, would you consider doing it for nothing?

5.) What do you feel that you can offer game music which somebody working for a commercial development team might not be able to provide?

6.) Do you enjoy your indie status?

7.) Would you consider moving to a higher-paid, more mainstream game composing job, or are you happy where you are?

8.) What kind of kit and software do you use?

9.) Has this kit helped/hindered you in the past?

10.) What are your opinions about game music as a whole - what set of beliefs do you apply when you're working on something?

11.) How do you feel game music should differ from film music?

Please add anything you like (biographical details or opinion) and let the questions just be guidelines. The more interesting and original your answers, the more likely you are to get mentioned!

Thanks. Please email the answers to paultaylor@nervoustestpilot.co.uk

I just read this article (like 30 minutes ago!), and it is the reason why I'm here right now. I want to definitely get into the game music industry, and didn't have one clue on how to do it...hopefully I'm on the right track now...

Thanks for the great article!
