Barebones tse mission

by Fredric Killmer · in Torque Game Engine · 09/16/2005 (6:48 am) · 9 replies

I will try this once again. I have been reading through the posts, and I have seen several customers ask for a barebones mission.

My problem is that I do not know enough about the scripting language to get to the f11 key to start to create a new mission, so that I can learn the scripting language.

I want to work with tse. And as I saw on another post, I have seen the orc dance! And he dances very well indeed.

I have a question: Can I get garage games or someone to make a barebones mission on tse that works with the tse as downloaded from the cvs? All it needs is a terrain loaded. At this point, I will have access to all the editors.

Thanks,
Rad

You can download the starter.fps port I made www.garagegames.com/blogs/18010/8629

Other than that, if you want want a really simple mission base, you could try porting the tutorial.base folder over.

Hi Joseph, I did download your starter.fps and it works just fine. The problem is that it does not work with tse that I download from cvs. The executable that I get with the starter.fps is quite a bit larger than the one I get from the cvs compiles. My assumption is that you have modified the tse source. Which is not good for me. What this would mean is that I would get locked into your executable and I don't want that.

I need to have control over both the scripting and the core engine.

I really wanted tse to work for what I am wanting to do. I have already tried some of the free engines out there, and they don't work, or they have too many dependencies on disparate languages. That is why I bought tge/tse. I know tse will do what I want it to do.

I guess I am out of luck. And that is a Bummer!

The demo has 1 change to it (which I forgot to take out) but for people that already own TSE... you just need to download the starter.fps (not the demo) and it should work out of the box.

Edit: if you do own TSE, then try posting in the private TSE forum.

I do own tse/tge and starter.rts
I thought I was in a private forum.
When I go to this post without loging in, it tells me I need to login to see this.

This is the private TGE forum, not the private TSE forum.

The only tse forum I see is Torque Shader Engine Public Forums.
So where is the private TSE forum?

Click Edit Subscriptions (on the left hand side) and make sure you have "Torque Shader Engine Private Forums" checked. (might have to logout then back in for it to work)

Got it, thanks Joseph...
Should I just delete this thread?

Nah, don't worry about it.
