Indie Team

Hi,

My name is Matt and im looking to either join an indie team at the executive level(Mngmnt) or start a new indie team.(I still plan to code.)

I am currently a freshman in college. My intended major is a BS in Computer Science and a minor in business.

What I DO know: HTML/CSS/PHP/MySQL
What I am LEARNING: JavaScript/ASP
What I know some, but still have alot to learn about: C++
My current book: Beginning C++ Game Programming by Michael Dawson.
What I would like to learn: How to model.

If there are any groups that need my current skills and willing to teach/let me learn by working on projects I would be very happy to help. I also have a lot of extra web hosting so I could help an indie group in that aspect as well.

Thanks for your time.

Matthew - perhaps it would be wiser to join a team doing programming then to try and manage a team.

People don't generally like to hand over production to someone without a ton of experience.

Or... start your own team... a team of one. Get your prototype running, and build on it whilst looking for an artist or with the intention of teaching yourself to model.

Code first . . . models later.

Agreed. I'm just trying to find a group to get with. I hate doing things alone, and it's nice to have someone to IM when you dont get something. Also, working on projects is a good learning route for me. I hate examples out of a book. Real world examples such as a project teach me much better.

Ok @ models.

Thanks for the info :)

Those fields are there for all ads by default. You can just leave them blank. or you can e-mail me directly with your information. tscott@magiqueproductions.com

Hey Matt
I know what you mean about working alone. I hate it, too, but you know, sometimes it's the only way you can get things done. It teaches you how good you are truthfully because you can't always rely on people to be there every step of the way. Take yourself as far as you can go and people will ask you if they can join your team, instead of you going out to find them.

I like that advice John and I agree with you 100%.

Mathew,
Give me a shout when you have a moment to webmaster@netflowdevelopments.com . I would be interested in hearing a little bit about your management experience and what you have to offer a team. We don't necessarily have an urgent need for someone of a management position but I would be more than willing to look at options of creating a positing if you can make a good person for the job.

Cheers
