Are there any free Texture Makers?

Are there any free Texture Makers for Torque or any tutrioals to that can make great textures. Or is it just best to use Photoshop?

I use photoshop elements 3. was about $100 on the mac. does the image offset and has the clone tool, which is really all you need to make seamless textures. a good book on texturing you might want to check out is the dark side of game texturing. has a lot of step by step tutorials and a lot of royalty free images to use when making your own textures.

Texture Maker isn't free, but its a good for the price ($70)
