Hi,
I want to purchase the Tim Aste Pack. Before i do, i need to know if the .max are included, for buildings etc. etc. ?
It seems there no complete list of the provided files and informations about the sourced format provided.
Thanks in advance.

I have the building pack 2 and the environment pack. I'm pleased with them both and although i'm not much of an artist i'm learning how to replicate some of the buildings (hurrah!). I cant see any max files in the directory but i may have deleted them to make space. I'l redownload the file and check whats there for you in a bit.

Sources for interiors tend to be in .map format, and those for objects in .3ds format.

The product descriptions linked from the TGE for Artists page give a breakdown of the files included. To find out what is in the combo packs, read the descriptions for each individual pack.Sources for interiors tend to be in .map format, and those for objects in .3ds format.

I suppose you could maybe zap the player into your own interior when they reach the "entrance" or load up a new mission which takes place inside the building.

None that i know of, just now i'm using the big bombed out building as a centre piece in a test level. I guess it would be easy to just delete the door, not sure about retexturing it though.I suppose you could maybe zap the player into your own interior when they reach the "entrance" or load up a new mission which takes place inside the building.

I dont see any 3ds files, only map files. I've imported them into cshop loads of times so hopefully they will still be useful to you.

Hmmm...yeah I tought of that, but I think those buildings were created mostly for decor, ah never mind, thats why we have source files so we can create game specific, who knows maybe one day when I grow up I will be next Tim Aste hehehehe ;)

You will need to open the map files in notepad and add this
"classname" "worldspawn"
right after the first { to get them to work for the converter and/or open them in quark. (Unless this was fixed since I downloaded the pack)

Lookup map23ds in google or the search on this site. I dont have the link handy but we used it to convert the buildings from map to 3ds format. The down side is the textures didnt port over (i think, its been awhile so I cant remember). And the map files were missing a few parts of the header that were needed for the converter. You will need to open the map files in notepad and add this
"classname" "worldspawn"
right after the first { to get them to work for the converter and/or open them in quark. (Unless this was fixed since I downloaded the pack)
