Graphic Bug while using the demo

I have installed the Demo from the 3dbook and when I run the test in chapter 3 I get a strange effect on my screen after I hit F11 and enter the map editor. I have a Raedeon X300 with driver version 6.14.01.6546 a gig of ram on the system sportin' a 3.0 gig proc. So I am sure power is not the issue. Here is a screen shoot I took
