Any word on an update?

I know a lot of people are eagerly awaiting the next version of T2D. I undestand it's been "just around the corner" for a couple of months now. Anyone have anything more concrete?
Since some big things will be changing (the map format for one), so I am kind of putting parts of my project on hold until those things will quit changing too much. I'm also looking very much forward to the new collision models, as well as some under the hood changes that should fix some of the quirks I've seen.
I'm mostly just curious, there are plenty of things I can work on in the meantime for my project! However ... I'm sure no one will give up a specific timeline - I totally understand the need to avoid self-imposed deadlines and the public pressure that comes with it. :)

if you actually have a game ready for release (such as Jason McIntosh's "Little Gods") then there are probably things that you really wish were fixed, but for me, it's a great learning tool, and i'm not nearly to the point where I'm hindered by t2d's EA state.

From my perspective, it's pretty solid right now.if you actually have a game ready for release (such as Jason McIntosh's "Little Gods") then there are probably things that you really wish were fixed, but for me, it's a great learning tool, and i'm not nearly to the point where I'm hindered by t2d's EA state.

Don't expect anything until sometime in October, at the IGC. At least, that's my current theory.

The stock collision models will solve a lot of my headaches as well. If it's october at the earliest, I will continue to work on other aspects of the game, and leave designing the actual tilemaps until the new map format is in play. I have no shortage of things to work on in the meantime!
@Jason: No, I'm not even close to having a game finished. :) But I am taking my project seriously, and have to plan for whatever changes T2D will throw my way. Being in the EA program has it's price, but it's definitely worth it. It's a great tool, judging by how far I have been able to come in probably only 6 hours of real programming spread out over the last couple of weeks. The rest of my time is sucked up in creating tile graphics. :)
@Lennart: I can't tell if the "we don't actually need the update" is sarcastic or not, because anyone that says "[the users] don't need an update" shouldn't be maintaining/developing T2D :)

I'm not saying T2D isn't solid, and it certainly could fulfill all of my needs for my game project as-is. But apparently the new version has drastic changes to sprite and tilemap format. I just want to make sure that I don't build too much code around a tilemap format that will change. I will have literally hundreds of tilemaps to make for my game, so I don't want to invest that time if I can't carry all that work forward to the new version. Besides, the new level editors sound very nice, and I'd love to take advantage of that. The stock collision models will solve a lot of my headaches as well. RIght now, the only thing definite is that there will be an update. We just have to wait I guess.

I'm not sure either. But the last time I asked the same question, I was told that t2d is already really great, and since games have been writtne with it, the update isn't actually needed. But this wasn't an official remark, but a user comment.RIght now, the only thing definite is that there will be an update. We just have to wait I guess.

On the other hand, I was told that we don't actually need the update, so there is no need to rush.

I guess I am the only one who finds the similar wording regarding news / release funny?
Edit2:
According to the DNF forums, some useres are actually still waiting... but I disgress.
