Ptk

I wonder if anyone here on the forums are using, or have used, PTK. Because currently, my money is splitted between the two. The only thing keeping t2d in the lead is the community. So if someone owned PTK, and is owning t2d, could you make up a list of things you like - dislike between the engines?

Well if you're a good programmer PTK will work for a simple game. It can certainly do a decent puzzler or word game. But an action game, shooter, platformer, RTS, RPG etc will be a bit harder to write in PTK than T2D, I think. I tried out PTK, but I won't be using it. The deal breakers for me were

- no collision routines
- no animated sprite support
- no scripting
- lack of tools

Also consider the price is twice as much as Torque2D. Of course you should use the engine that works for you and best fits your project.
