TSE Bounties

Hey guys, the TSE bounties are in our Mantis database and ready to be claimed!
To see the bounties, go to:
tdn.garagegames.com/mantis/view_all_bug_page.php
Sign up for an account. Then select "TSE Bounty" in the dropdown menu located on the upper right side of the screen.
You can post and make comments, ask questions in the repo. Anyone can try any bounty and multiple people can try them at once. Please only post in Mantis only to ask questions about the bounty or indicate that the bounty is ready for submission and review. If submissions are reviewed and accepted, the bounty payment will be made after the person signs a Contributor Agreement. We reserve the right to pick any bounty we want, but if 2 submissions occur of equal quality, we'll try to go with the one submitted first, but don't guarantee it.
This process should go pretty smoothly; we are really looking forward to paying these out and getting MS3 moving even faster!

Wow! It's really exciting to see existing TGE resources being ported into TSE. Cool!!!

D'oh.. I've got a fxFoliageReplicator going as well. Just need to support fogging / alpha in a decent manner and I'm wrapped up. Oh well, maybe I'll learn from yours or vice versa!

This would be so great!

I have a suggestion. I would like to see a way for GG developers to post bounties for elements they need
for there games. If it's automated GG can charge a hosting fee for doing the web work on the Customer Based Bounty System.
This would be so great!

Am I missing something? There are already help wanted forums. If you need something for your game, make a post. :)

into TDN. Customers could choose to release the code to the community or keep it private.
GG would charge a processing or other fee(s).
The way you guys did the TSE bounties is great just saying I want something like that for
us (customers *.*).

I am aware of the help wanted forums. This idea would be an automated tool builtinto TDN. Customers could choose to release the code to the community or keep it private.

It's down the road aways, but it's in the long term plan!

Actuallly, while it's a ways down the road, we are looking at forming some form of "Professional Torque Developers" network where you can do exactly what was suggested...bounty out a project of whatever size (from a very small indie contract to a very large AAA contract), and have people "bid" on your work. It's down the road aways, but it's in the long term plan!
#28
Want to put that project up for bid?
Im currentaly working on a huge bidding web app for contractors, for one of Michigans larger homebuilders. :)

Is anyone working on it at all? Seeing as we've payed for it already, it would be nice with some progress updates so we know how far along it is, or how short..
For instance, Atlas has been out for a few months now, and it still can't be used for any serious production.

How is any of this going? There have been almost no words on TSE and it's process in a while now.Is anyone working on it at all? Seeing as we've payed for it already, it would be nice with some progress updates so we know how far along it is, or how short..

And Atlas can most certainly be used for serious production: look at my most recent .plan just for starters.

@Stefan: You've been around long enough to know how things work...Ben Garney wrote Atlas, Ben Garney is handling the entire TGE 1.4 release on multiple platforms, Ben Garney is running the TDN initiative. Ben has quite a few development concepts in mind for the next version of Atlas, and when the time comes for development, he'll be hard at work on it.And Atlas can most certainly be used for serious production: look at my most recent .plan just for starters.

Out of curiosity what are the issues you are having with Atlas? I'm working on a project right now using TSE and atlas. I've been trying to hold off on too much engine modification while I wait on 1.4 so doing as much as I can in script. I haven't had too many issues with it so far. I'd like to see the in-game editor working for it and I know that you can't cut holes in terrain. Just curious if there are other problems I haven't encounters yet that I should be ready for.
#32
My mistake, I was meant to say that it's very difficult to use it for any kind of serious production; as you can't edit it in-engine, and thus it's a pain to place buildings as you have to head out and back in to edit the terrain, re-export.. etc.
Of course it's possible, but unlike TGE - it's far from casual.
I just hope that the Xbox project won't delay TSE so terribly much..
@J.C. Smith,
I guess they are more like, features missing rather than issues (as in bugs). If you have no problems, I salute you.
