TSE Starter.fps download

I got the starter.fps folder ported over to TSE (TSE water and Atlas are working in the starter.fps as well), and I wanted to upload it for people to play around with/use if they want too...

Update:
v1.3 for TSE projects using MS2 or below "here" (23MB)

v1.3.5 for TSE projects using MS3 "here" (18MB)
(the file size is smaller because I used a better compression setting)

At the moment it contains 2 maps....

Stronghold: just the same old stronghold mission, but with the TSE water.

Simple testbed: Just TSE water and Atlas terrain, it has 2 platforms and an AI player running around...

@ Vincent: yeh, I've been playing with the settings a little, I just don't want to break my new toy just yet:) (guess that's what backups are for)

@ Joseph: The pack saved alot of time getting flyers into the game, worth every penny of it.

If you get the trees reeported, could ya make a supplement download with just the changes and zip it up?

Been playing around with the starter.racing... going to be a big job :-\

So far I have:

I think I may redo my design for the Massive terrain I made a while back and post some screens of that with the starter. Now that I have a better grasp on Atlas, I can do much better and be able to walk through it to get a real feel. If I can get some sort of way to host it, I'd also be glad to post it btw.

And if you didn't catch my topic on that, the Massive was the title of a 24 kilometer by 24 kilometer terrain I made.

A suggestion for another update you may do: Try a parallax shader. I posted the code for it here: www.garagegames.com/mg/forums/result.thread.php?qt=28219

Maybe you could try compiling the starter.fps demo with TSE to show some more ability. ;)

Jacob, compile with TSE?

Theres a version of the starter.fps with the .exe and everything else you need to run it, if thats what you mean.

As for the shader, I want to try and keep the starter.fps port as simple as I can.

Ah, ok. And by compile, I just meant putting all the stuff of the starter.fps demo together like your doing, but with more to show off TSE.

Hey Joseph, any progress with the Racing.Starter? I got the bravetree car pack working a few weeks ago (since broken it) and haven't had time to revisit it.

Adam, I haven't done a lot on it yet... now most of the starter.fps work is out of the way, I'm going to be spending more time on it.

Please DON'T put a parallax shader in there, we'll be adding our own hopefully this milestone. Keep it simple.

Brian, don't worry... I'm keeping it very simple, just TSE water and bump mapping (which can be removed very easily)

Only thing I need to work out now, is why the bow string is around the wrong way :-\

Aww, I woulda loved to see that. Oh well, I can wait for you guys to do one. Man, can't wait to see all this finished. :)

I noticed something odd that happens in V1.2 and I have also seen this happen in TGE. When you are in first person mode and you look up at a certain degree the weapon dissapears.

Also It seems like the renderfirstperson option in the player datablock has no effect anymore the player will be rendered in first person regardless.

I've downloaded the fps starter kit (thanks Joseph), but, I haven't sucess to see the FPS on TSE working yet :(

Every first time that I run it, only a black screen appears, like this:

If I change the window mode, windowed to fullscreen and the opposite, I'll see something weird, seems that any shader doesn't work. Take a look of every mission I've loaded:
