is there an example player.max for max 3.1 yet?

i understand that the torque_max_filepak was made with max4 , so none of the .max files will load in max 3.1 , which is funny cuz i can put the max2dtsexporter in my plugins folder and load up weapons from from max 3.1 files, (havet tried to export em)

is this something going to be done? or are us max3 users out of luck as far as the example max's go,,,,,,or am i just not doing something right

Unless some enterprising soul with MAX 3 wants to build one, there will probably not be an skinned player example file for MAX 3.

If anyone wants to volunteer, I would be glad to check the file to make sure it is done correctly.

We have converted all .MS3D and .MAX file to the .3DS format, so everybody can have a look at these files, regardless of the software they are using.

thats going to kill the formatting info you need in max to export tho (making them 3ds) isnt it?

Due to how old the 3dS format is, it wouldn't contain any information that would be useful to people.

You could try to use the Flexporter import/export module to transfer the data to R3 from R4, since Flexporter supports most of the advanced 3DS Max features.
