OpenGL2 has a shading API, and even though windows will be stuck at version 1.4 forever

I don't care, because I don't use windows. I am a linux programmer, and just because windows will never have an opengl shading compatible interface that doesn't mean that us dudes that use linux don't want it. What about the new x86 macs coming out?
They'll be opengl powered as well.

OpenGL support is on the list. When we started TSE, OGL wasn't ready. Now that it's finally gotten there, the wheels are starting to turn.

DirectX will upgrade OGL in Vista, we won't be stuck at 1.4 forever, you know.

OpenGL on Windows will be fixed at a vanilla version of OpenGL 1.4
http://www.opengl.org
It's the front page headline on the OGL website.
The problem is I stopped using windows a long time ago, and frankly I don't want to use it ever again.
So it would be nice if things went forward regardless of what happens with microsoft corporation and their dealings.

I think the same thing applies to TSE.

I understand about the money part. Unless you are using linux every day and have a business built around it, it can be hard to make money with it.
I'm however not going to switch operating systems to keep using torque.

You need it for a linux game or some kind of simulation? That's commercial license.

Don't get mad at GG about it. The product is not even launched yet (TSE).You need it for a linux game or some kind of simulation? That's commercial license.
Torque Owner Robert Pierce
1) It is still Early Adopters.
2) As it is EA, it is Direct X
3) OpenGL support is planned for the "full" version.
Of course, this if just from what I have read, and since it has been interpreted, it could have been easily altered.
