If these guys can "do it" so can you (we?)

Nice concept, though I personally find the interface quite laughable.
Adventure Quest
I was just thinking to myself that if these guys stay in business for more than a year, they must have something going for their idea.
I dont know if it inspires me, or makes me cringe at what type of horible abonimation I would created if I were to do the same concept....
And man, if you try that game out and dont fall over and cry, i dont know what's wrong with you.
(I am being overly harsh, props to them for "making it happen")

Yeah I have to agree. At one point I made a bot to play the game for me. Level up about once or twice a day.

But i think it's not the same budget, is'nt it? ;)
It's verry cheap thought, 5 per month, and you ca try it for a week.

But I wont bother answering your question about "whats wrong with it"... go play it for 5 minutes, then you will know.. and your eyes will never forgive you.

The website is actually done very well, they should fire everyone on their team except the web developer (and maybe artist?)But I wont bother answering your question about "whats wrong with it"... go play it for 5 minutes, then you will know.. and your eyes will never forgive you.

My 8 and 10 year old daughters were playing this game and I didn't even know it existed. So they obviously found out from other kids through school. That should tell you a lot about how widespread it is already. Sounds like a success story to me.

AHAHAHA! The puns! My god, the puns! They're... TERRIBLE!
Wow. That sorta puts things into perspective, huh? Look! They have mounted combat!
EDIT: Oh jeez... I just realized they have over 10,000 players. *sigh*

So don't knock it. They are doing something right.

My daughter saved up her allowance for WEEKS so she could pay to be a "guardian" in that game. She's hardly unique. So don't knock it. They are doing something right.

Exactly. If anyone here actually thinks this game is supposed to be an adult game to compete with WoW or EQ, then you are totally missing the point. This is so obviously geared at a younger audience and is absolutely perfect for the under teen crowd.

We're getting a lot of kids into the Minions of Mirth alpha test. Kids love to tell other kids. They also like to play multiplayer with their friends. They're also damned annoying at times :)-Josh Ritter

Of course these games "Free games" are not meant to compete with WOW or whatever, but I do expect them to be more pollished than THAT. Maybe kids just dont care for the asthetics difference between "good" games and dull.. ??? Hmmm.. something to mark down as "to be researched"

EDIT: Yeah Josh. Minions of Mirth is great. I've told my friends about it.

Yeah, its not trying to compete with WoW or EQ2. It's just trying to be a fun little game that people can enjoy during their freetime.EDIT: Yeah Josh. Minions of Mirth is great. I've told my friends about it.

Younger kids really don't care all that much. My same daughters who play Adventure Quest have been playing AC, EQ, CoH, SWG and others. Yet this little simple game still gets them excited.
