T2RPG... using T2 or V12?

This post is mostly an attempt to touch base with GG. I am an avid Starsiege Tribes player, an artist, a musician, and a programmer. I have put all of these skills into a Total Conversion for Tribes 1, which has been in development for over 2 years. This TC did not take any breaks for the entire 2 year period, and has been growing ever since.
My RPG TC has turned many heads, including former EverQuest addicts. The support that my community has given me over this long period of ongoing development has convinced me to move the game into Tribes 2.
But recently enough I heard about the V12 engine, a spinoff of T2 (basically the same, less art etc), and that I could get my hands on it for what seems like $100. I don't mind the fact that GG would have the upper hand when publishing came along. But having a community to help me through the development of my game is very important to me. An open design concept, where players constantly "beta-test" the game, is what I've grown accustomed to in designing my game. I don't want to give that up.
My plan is to move the T1RPG core code into T2 (which should be accomplished in a matter of weeks, as the code I've written is very modular), and once the game is polished enough, move it into V12.
So GG, what do you guys think?
(Note that this game would probably get finished much faster than most games in planning for V12 because the game is pretty much already coded in Tribes 1)

Sounds pretty cool to me :) Porting from T2 to the V12 should be pretty easy.
