CH16 Billboard Tree Transparency Problem

I am at CH16 in the book and tried working on the Bllboard tree in Milkshape 3D. I do everything the book states, and when I run the game, the trees only show up invisble. I can't even see if the transparency effect is working at all (or too well). Any help would be nice, even tutorials on doing transparencys with alpha channels and exporting from MS3d to TGE. thanks in advance.

Okay. now I have a different problem... i fooled around with the materials and group names and realize that when I use firstface: BillboardZ in my groups tab, the tree disapears... any help on getting the tree to always face you in any direction?
