A list of indie publishers?

Hi,

I was wondering if anyone had taken the time to compile a good list of indie game publishers. I think it would be useful to have such a list and keep it updated. I'll get it started with what I've managed to unearth over the past few days of searching. Also, it would be good to share stories if anyone's had any experience with any of the publishers.

To clarify, this should be a list of places that people with finished indie games can contact to set up potential publishing contracts.

1. our own beloved www.garagegames.com
2. www.totalgaming.net
3. www.smallrockets.com

Those are the only ones I've found which seem totally reputable.

Hmm...it looks like this post already has some great lists. So nevermind!

I'm confused. You can have multiple publishers for the same game?? Why is Gish being featured as one of totalgaming's games for sale? I don't see GG mentioned anywhere. And not too long ago I seen Think Tanks on some other site for sale. Does GG get kick backs for Think Tanks and Gish no matter what and allow their games to be sold on other sites?

Isn't an "indie publisher" kind of an oxymoron? Jumbo shrimp and all that?

Yes, you can publish your game with as many publishers as you wish... You can read more about it by going to www.garagegames.com/index.php?sec=mg&mod=resource&page=category&qid=124#5508

Wow I had no idea. In the console world they always have one publisher and I've never heard of multiple publishers. Thanks for the information.

In most cases, console games (and boxed PC games) will have a different publisher for each region/country... unless it's a big worldwide publisher.

Www.dexterity.com is also an indie publisher as far as I know.
