Level Editor

During this past GID I created a level editor for the game I was making. After a couple of requests, I decided to post it as a resource (which is yet to be approved). My original intent was to just let people use it until the official editors from gg are released. Since I now have an interest in the topic, I have picked up from various discussions that a full featured level editor would be very useful. I have a pretty good picture in my head of what that would be and posess the ability to build it.

The problem I'm having is that because gg is currently working on some editors it would be useless for me to do the same thing. But, you never can tell what exactly they are working on or when they will release anything because they tend to be pretty secretive (not complaining - it's just a fact).

Anyway, I have decided to build the editor unless someone gives me a good reason not to. And the purpose of this thread is to hear feature requests and suggestions.

I haven't really messed around with what you sent me the other day (maybe about 10-15 minutes), But I did like what I saw. Definately some good ideas going on. The map format is pretty nice. It is a lot similar to what I was working on, but I think I'll borrow some of it for myself :) I don't have any complaints, it is a great basis for a custom level editor, or hell, DM tool if you are looking for a crpg. Again, thanks, and I'll be checking out the updated version when its posted.

Adam...
often people posts a direct link to the Resource while waiting for GG to approve it..
See if you can post the direct link, this way more people can see what you are working on and possibly give suggestions

thanks

OK, I added a link to it in my first post. For some reason doing that never crossed my mind.

Yeah, I've heard of that happening before. Should work now.
