Truespace 6.6

Caligari's seems to be offering Truespace 6.6 for $199! Any thoughts on how good a deal that is (I have Truespace 4.3 already)?

Are you sure you don't mean GameSpace I received the e-mail that GameSpace is on sale for $199 didn't see anything about such a sale for TrueSpace but if thier flagship modeler is down from 795 to 199 I would be slightly worried about the state the company is in.

My opinion: It's not that good of a deal considering Softimage XSI Foundation is now only $495. Truespace is crash prone, weird user interface and non-standard approach to animaton kinematics make it a love-it or hate-it type of thing.

He is right Truespace 6.6 is on sale right now for 6.6. I think it is so cheap right now is because Caligari is about to release 7.0 and want to make a few more sales before the release. If you buy the 795 version. They are offering a free upgrade to 7.0 when it comes out.

I never could get used to the interface for gamespace even though it's priced affordable when on sale. I need to give XSI a whirl though 495 while more than I may want to spend isn't that bad for a commercial end modeling package. I do have Half Life 2 so perhaps I will give it a go with the mod tool and whatever tuts I can find and see how good it is.

The animation also always had me concerned with gamespace too many people talking about how buggy it can be and how it can hose your animations.
