Second Edition and the new Advanced book.

by David Stewart · in Torque Game Engine · 07/19/2005 (9:26 pm) · 50 replies

The new Advanced 3DGPAIO is supposed to come out in about a week.
Anyone know if it is on time?

Also, does anyone know if 3DGPAIO will get revised?

thanks

"Well, the book "went to bed" 9 minutes ago."

Ken,

Any chance you would release it in e-book form? You could make it cheaper than Amazon's price yet more than your cut from the publisher of the paper book.

In addition to saving money, I really like having the ability to do keyword searches. You just can't do that with a paper book.

Thoughts?

Im very glad to see this book, I could really use some help with AI
plus chapter 13 (Online Game Services Using PHP) look very interesting.
I got a question about the game that we will make during this book, will it
be a new game or we will continue the Emaga game that we did in the first book?

Will this book be ok to read and follow if you have never read the other book before?
Or does it follow on.. so a newbie should buy the first book first then this one.. or both of course

Hokuto,

From Ken in a post in this thread:

Would the first book be required to get to pick this one up. The first one looks great, though to be honest a lot of the concepts I've seen in it I already know, this book seems to be great though, though I'm curious if the second book is dependent upon the first one...?

YEs Matthew.. so I'm not alone:) That what I was trying to ask:)
but anyway.. I got the first book a few days ago... that means it will be a few weeks before I'll buy the advanced one

Amazon is still listing an Aug. 12th release date for this, but mine hasn't shipped. Anyone know the real release date?

*edit* Oops, never mind... just saw the Aug. 26th date above :)

They are saying September 7th now. Wal-Mart is saying after August 31. Anyone know why of the delay?

Wal-Mart says they did not get shipment from publisher. Hurricane Katrina might have something to do with it. Wal-Mart is saying after September 30th. I canceled my order and re-ordered it from amazon.... will be here Thursday.

Has anyone actually received their Amazon.com order yet? I ordered mine on July 20th, it has not shipped and still has an estimated shipping date of August 2nd.

Just ordered mine for free shipping. That gives me about 5 days to finish up the chapters i didn't do in the first one.

I ordered mine Sept.5 and it shipped yesterday... will be here tomorrow.

@Cholly: goto the Amazon site and login....then goto "my account"... then to "track order" link to find out where your order is. And yes, several people have already gotten their book.
