I'll make a movie of you playing

Hello!

I'm looking for a free or not expensive video screen capturing software....

I know camtasia but it's too expensive, and Fraps, but it seem it's not really the purpose of this software (37$).....

Do you know any other software?

Hello,

What do you need the software to do. I have both programs (Camtasia and Fraps) and both of them do very well for their own purposes. Camtasia is great for regular windows desktop and productivity recording. Fraps is very good for game/interactive content recording. You can try both of them for 30 days to see if either performs the way you want.

But again, it all depends on what you want to capture, how you want to use it. Those questions lead into several more, but they should help us understand your needs.

Yep, i forgot to say that i want to capture PC game (and i have only one PC so it's the PC who's playing that have to capture...)

So it seem that fraps is better for games?

I can try it for 15 seconds only...

Garry> That's a mac software so thanx, i'll remember it when i'll buy a mac for game-porting.

I use gamecam, i think it's much better than fraps, fraps slows down the games a lot.
Give it a try :

Bruno,

Yeah, Fraps does drop framerates quite a bit. On my old pre-crash pc, fraps was almost unusable. On my new machine the hit isn't bad at all. But I'll check out gamecam too. I'm always on the lookout for useful tools. Thanks for the URL.
