Is it possible to recevie the TGE licence as a present?
If someone else buys me the license as a present for my birthday
in my account will I be able to acess the torque documentation?

I don't see why not?
Parents are buying their children birhtday and Xmas presents all the time!
Torques is just another commercial product. Clothes you wear, when you tired of them, you sell them
at a yard sell, or swap meet. Cars you drive. When you tired of it, you sell it, or trade it in for a new one.
Torque, you design 3D games with. When you tired of it, or want to do something else with your life, you sell your copy to someone else. (Just don't duplicate the software, that's where piracy and copyright infringement comes
into play.)

A Torque license is non-transferable

Though I don't think it would be a problem if your parents logged into your account and purchased it for you under your name (with there billing info)... (correct me if I'm wrong GG).

But can I make a back up copy of torque just in case my computer crashes?

It's based per person, not per computer.

I don't have a credit card, so I just got Dad to buy Torque on my profile and paid him in cash. So there should be no problem.
