just about everyone does. . . .but COST is the major issue

Right, i took it upon myself to learn modeling, just so i had SOME shapes in my game. Most people here cannot afford to pay a modeler for work. I wish i could, but, being a broke college student, that wouldnt go over well... If your willing to work for free, im sure youd have more job offers than you could READ... heh

Just a thought -- you guys should really farm the Mod community. The modelling talent behind some of the upcoming Serious Sam mods is just INCREDIBLE, because the Croteam guys made it extremely easy to get models into the game (and because how easy it is to make levels). I'd suggest farming the planetserious forums -- look for people posting their examples of work done, and then contact them directly. Or just post a new forum topic.

Well im willing to work for free i model with 3d studio max r3 but i can't get torque yet thats the only problem is there any other good free engines or are we not aloud to talk about them in the forums?

You should probably put up some work samples to get the attention of the others here. That might help your search.

You don't need to buy torque to model for it.
Just work up some models and take screenshots and post them somewhere for developers to see them and offer help to people.
