Hi Marcel,

Do you support Thai font display? As I find it is quite complex in showing the font in correct combination of position.

If you support Thai, could you give me some hints? Thanks a lot!

Hi Aun,

Do you mean TGE unicode version will handle the rendering of Thai's complex script correctly? Is it possible to have a screen capture of Thai version of TGE?

Actually I didn't have the unicode version and all BIG5 / GB support is done by ourselve, and so Thai's TIS-620.

@ Samme you should really start a new post :)

TGE supports unicode so you just use unicode for the Thai language. Don't really know what else to say, here's a blog of a game I made last year that uses Thai font.

I only has the TGE 1.4.2 so I can't use UNICODE version of TGE.

So I may only use TIS-620 for the Thai text coding and render the Thai character by myself.

TGE supports unicode, it is not another version of TGE.

Look in the TGE product page and you'll see "Unicode International Strings Support".

You can save your Thai characters in say "notepad" and save it using the Encode option as "unicode" then make TGE read the Thai characters from the notepad file you just saved.

Start a new post and make a link here. I'll stop answering it here.

ps. notepad adds some stupid headers, beware for that.

Wow, is it fate? It is coincidence? I never thought I'd find fellow Thai developers on this website. :O

Ahem.

Hello, I'm a college student at Mahidol University International College, currently studying Computer Science. However, I consider myself as an artist, and I see games as a medium for expressing my passion for crafting creative works.

My English language is my greatest strength, and creative writing comes natural to me. I can also do graphics and audio effects to some extent, from my hobbyist experience. I also worked with a group of friends to produce two simple PC games and sold them at a few conventions.

I just started with Torque Game Builder, since my group recently folded, and I wish to establish contacts with any other English-speaking Thai game developers in Thailand. :)

@Dawit (and for everyone else's FYI)

My company here in Thailand (Novaleaf Software Co. Ltd) is going strong, and currently has 16 employees.

In our Game studios, we have moved away from Torque (for various reasons), and are now focusing on developing XNA based games (without the use of GG tech)

If anyone is interested in either internships, or full time jobs, we are hiring in the areas of:
- C# Developer
- IT Administrator
- Java/PHP Web Developer

You can look at further details on JobsDB, or on our careers page: http://novaleaf.com/careers.htm

A little bit of information about our Game Studios: We are the only Game Company in thailand focusing on XNA, and the tech-demo of our first game "Biology wars" was highlighted at the SIPA booth at TAM. If you are Thai, you can read about it a little bit from our developer blogs, such as Johan and nick: http://blogs.novaleaf.com/johan/
http://blogs.novaleaf.com/nick/

Again, we are focusing on C#, XNA games for the PC and XBOX360, along with some other C# and C++ applications (A network file system for one). So if you are interested in those technologies, let me know!
