War of the Worlds is worth seeing

All I can say about this movie is "make sure you don't have a heart condition" when you see it.

I have seen many "horror" and "scary" movies before. But this is the only movie that has ever actually been horrifying and scary. Believe me. I now know what it feels like to have adrenalin rushing through my blood for two solid hours. Honestly, worth seeing.

It's nothing like his other alien movies. I really hated spielberg after he did AI, and still hate him for wasting so many hours of my life watching it that one time. However, WotW really stands out on its own.

Hehe alien fetish? this is only his third movie with aliens in them, I wouldn't call that a fetish. He does have a fetish with WW2 though.

The scene where the kid takes the copter under the Hudson and waits there for the Blue Fairy to make him a boy for the next 2000 years was what made AI worth it...

the stark and unforgiving nature of time... the events that occured within its passage... a world in which mankind, the progenitors of the true intellect that now rules the earth, is but a memory...

... i think Spielberg did a great job in presenting that, and putting us there... AI wasn't that bad...

yes... i'm looking forward to seeing this one as well... the early trailers hinted that Spielberg had dug deep into the recesses of our ids, and come up with some images and sound that really scare us...

... i'm glad to hear that so far it looks like everyone was scared out of their beejeebers :)

I was a a little shocked how brutal the violence was. No invasion movie i remember has gone as far as showing innocent people being zapped in half. But i loved it. Kinda wish there was a more distinguished score with it though, maybe that jeff waynes thinger...

I think its to bad that it won't go as best movie of the year because of star wars in my opinion, whats everybody elses opinion? which movie has a bigger chance of being movie of the year star wars or war of the worlds?

Innocent people being zapped in half you say?
This is definitely getting bumped to the top of my must-see list.

Ok, somebody got to be the con, The only feeling I got was everybody in this movie was acting the opposite of normal people. Iam srry guys but it just didnt scare me or even shocked me LOL

Tom cruise a blue collar worker, and looking like hes too fit for that job he does LOL.

The kid playing his son, That joker was a idiot, EVEN a teenager with SUPER ANGST and on Prozac would not have acted like that in the middle of a ALIEN Invasion. You seen a unnatural storm, the city is completely devasted and you hollering about " Is it terrorist!! you dont have the balls to face them DAD!! or "I have to see this!!!" See what!! you idiot even if the beams graze you your FRIGGING dead you want to get a closer look!!

Dakota fanning come on now one minute she acting more mature then the adults and then she screaming bloody terror the next. Iam sorry uh DAD but its a little too late to be protecting her from the TERRORS of the world!! The whole PLANET is under ATTACK!!, and you trying to shield her from all of it. Why dont you just put her EYES Out!!

And finally the ALIENS come on in one scene they were actually cute looking like children playing LOL!! Confirm by the row of college girls sitting in the row in front of me and my bros. :)

My vote wait for the DVD or just see it during Matinee hours, The original is still better to me :))

Wait for it on dvd? Really? I mean really? It's one of those movies where if you're gonna see it, it better be in the biggest theater you can find. Some of the stuff about the characters is true, but it didn't bother me too much.

I've seen it twice, both times were very good even when the first time I was in one of the nicest theatres around, to one of the crappiest.
