What is the difference between a Mod and a game engine? I think I know the answer? Just wondering?

A mod is a modification to an existing game, by changing models, weapons, small bits of code, etc. Basically, customizing an existing game to fit your liking.

A game engine is the overall code that runs a game. The .exe that runs a game.
