Hammer time.

Does anyone know of any working links to resources showing how to set up Hammer for Torque? I've had enough of Quark and I don't want to shell out for Cartography Shop then again for Torque Constructor soon (I hope!) after.

Hahahahahahaa... ahhhh, sorry Steve, but for some reason this just hit a familiar button :)

ok... i have some stuff here, it's all printed out and filed in book form... and it seems as if a lot of the pages are no longer up, or have changed location...

this one will get you started though...

Thanks Mike. Had a look at the link you suggested but it refers to another document for setup instructions, for which the link is broken. DOH!

Steve... i know how frustrating this can be sometimes...

go here and save the document locally...

i don't know if i can keep it up for too long...

this will explain the install and configuration steps necessary.

Just be careful using Hammer for any professional/commercial stuff. There are some licensing issues with it that were not ever settled. Basically this has been discussed over in the forums, so try doing a search. I personaly did shell out the money for Cartography Shop, and have never looked back. and with version 5 coming out, it should kick ***!

So far, everything that i see about using Worldcraft with Torque seems to indicate that there are no outstanding licensing issues that will adversely affect the Torque developer... but if you are aware of any, please post a reference to it here for not only me, but everyone...

i've also licensed, and use CShop... a decent program... i like it... but, there are some significant differences between the two...

for example... for complex shapes, like a nuclear submarine hull, for instance... try and select a group of vertices at the top of a cylinder in CShop, and scale them as a group around the center in order to form a converging diameter cylinder form...

There is just some a lot of confusing over the use of hammer/Worldcraft (actually the naming is important depending on what you read). that is why for my purposes I just stayed clear way from them. CS has it's faults, but i'm just hoping when 5 comes out, it should all be handled (and I've been told that it will be). anyways here is a link you can refer to:
