Chris is not correct, I think. It depends on the Content Packs EULA and how the license is written.

Selling the artwork (even modded) is prohibited.
I'll have to re-read the EULA, but I read them when I bought them.
My intentions were indie-commercial, not hobby.
I'm pretty sure releasing a game with the art is fine.
And I bet Tim would appreciate a spot in the credits.
I'll post back after reading them again.

I copied this from the EULA from Tim's new content pack.

1. SINGLE COPY media LICENSE: This media is copyrighted and protected by law and international treaty. You may download this media through a web browser or copy it from GarageGames approved distributed media onto a single computer for use in the creation of one released software product, unless specifically licensed to do otherwise by Timothy Aste. This is a license, not a transfer of title, and you may not (a) create derivative works based on this media for retail sale or distribution by any means other than as provided by this argreement;(b) transfer this media or the documentation in whole or in part to another person without Timothy Astes permission;(c) remove any copyright or other Timothy Aste proprietary notices; (g) transfer this media to another person. You agree to prevent any copying of this media that you download for your use from the Garage Games web site.

My understanding is that ONE purchase gives you the right to install it on ONE computer for dev purposes and release ONE software title with it.
So, if you have 5 devs or 3 software titles you need to purchase the approriate number of licenses. Also, any Copyright notices must be left intact.
I imagine that including a Copyright for Tim Aste's work in the credits would be approriate.
Even if the artwork is modified, it would seem ethical to do this.
However reselling (even modded) the artwork without Tim Aste's written permission is strictly a violation of his EULA.
So, it can be used to build a commercial game, but not to make another content pack and resold.

Tim Aste or GG Staff please correct me if I am wrong.
This is a subject that I cannot error on.
I buy all Tim's packs and others on GG for use in my game which I plan to release commercially.
And since I am currently the only dev on my project and I'm only working on one title this seems to be ok according to the respective EULAs.

Ari's interpretation is consistent with the purposes of the content pack's usage requirements! As Stefan pointed out however, please make sure that you read and understand the EULA for each of the content packs you are planning to use, as there may be fundamental differences that are important to your business plans.

I just want to buy the Tim Aste content packs and make some modifications to the buildings for use in one sinlge game.

I want to know if that is possible

I have sent an email to tim yesterday, but he still doesn't answer me.

1) Tim is on vacation.
2) read above. Short answer is yes, you can use the pack in one game, as long as you are the only person actually downloading Tim's pack.

Hey Israel, I sent an email to you replying to your specific questions. I was on vacation the past week and had limited internet facility. Hope it helped.

For everyone:

Yes you can create commercial content with the pack

The purpose of the EULA in English is basically to prohibit slightly modifying (or not at all) the content and reselling it as your "own" content pack on a service like Turbosquid, or in a collection, etc. It's intended for end-user release. The source art itself is included to allow editing, but is not intended to be distributed with your game, etc (although the final compiled product can, etc, .dts's are ok).

Tim, I have a couple questions about staying in line with the EULA for your content packs.
I'm not really an artist but I recruit friends in the industry to help from time to time.
Do I really need to purchase a license for each dev working on the project?
Is it ok, for me to provide my artist with the source art files from the pack as long as I only use the compiled art?
Kind of like breaking up the pack between the artists that need their respective pieces.
Ie. png to one guy, map to another, and so on?
I'm getting really close to releasing a playable demo and I'm very worried about staying in line with the legals.
And currently I'm broke, server farm etc. drained me.
Sorry to get so petty, but I don't want to make any mistakes or step on the people who helped me get this far.
Also, GG staff, same questions for the BraveTree packs.

Hey Ari,

I didn't write the EULA so I'm unfamiliar with various legal situations, but I will check with the appropriate party and send you an email this afternoon once I figure out how to answer that. :-)
