Hello Viktor

I had the same problem so my fix was a simple one, i just went into the Terrain Terraform Editor and then
chose adjust height and used a small brush to pull the ground up a notch, it's a dumb trick i know buy hey it
did work for me.....

I have also played with the waterblock scale size by setting it at ----> 2048 2048 138
which puts a hugh block above you, then just drag it to the right spot and you
have an ocean.....

P.S I like your pics ....

Viktor, I dig the trees. However that grass looks kind of ugly compared to the rest of the scene. I've never seen grass that green in a forest. Maybe darken it a little? Also with water, that's a tricky one...I'd suggest maybe smoothing the edges with the circle add dirt or even the smooth tool. Great job man!

@Jean
Ok, pick fxFoliageReplicator from the list. Just give it some random name like "Test" hopefully you'll have this purple, transparant torus. Go to World Inspector and select it. Now go to Media and type out the image file. I did starter.fps/data/shapes/foliage/grass1.jpg Of course you'll have to make a special file for Foliage if you haven't already.

Viktor, that looks incredible. What did you use, Google couldn't find Shark Tree.

Can sombody please talk me through the textures, I cannot get any grass textures to work. They all just come up with big white blocks. I would like to create grass like Viktor's, how did you do it?

Did you make sure that they're .png images?

Yes, and I jus followed the instructions to install it again and I still get white blocks...

Did anyone every find an answer to this? I'm using fxFoliageReplicator. I initally copied my datablocks and foliage art from the TGE-DEMO since it wasn't used in the final starter.fps.

That worked so I made two of my own images (4 really) as per the example:
- wheat.jpg
- wheat.alpha.jpg
- grass.jpg
- grass.alpha.jpg

As you can see below the wheat works, aside from looking like it was just cr@ped out by a 2-dimensional cow... (suggestions welcome..). The little white blocks would be my poor grass. I created them using the same process.

Even as I type this I'm thinking the grass image has different dimensions. Do image dimensions have to be powers of 2? or specific sizes? 128x256 works.

Off to try this, but if you know please help.

Got it! Image size has to be powers of two:

bad:
432x317
256x192 (nope, 192's NOT a power of 2)

good:
128x256
256x256

The results (for me) are terrifying, but at least it's wokring. I'm thing larger, lower density images work better with this effect? maybe less is more...

One more thought:

I made this look a little better by doing several things:

- less is more - for example, I made an image with 1 wheat-stalk instead of 3.
- higher-res image. why scale down to scale back up?
- on wheat.alpha.jpg: i did a strata from the middle to the top, #000 to #999 respectivly. This gave the top a touch of transparency to soften it a little.

More ideas are welcome.
