Hi, I'm Innovation. Remember Me?

I'd like to challenge the community, to come up with some new and REALLY INNOVATIVE concepts behind:
FPS games
RPG games
Racing games
Platform games
Sports games
or anything else.
I want to see what everyone can come up with. I'd like to see if you have what it takes to be as different as you can be while still being fun.
Let me give some examples.
FPS- A game where you're a ladies man, and you need to shoot women with your "love darts" to get them into bed.
RPG- Xmen Legends, 4 player action rpg for a console system, it plays differently than other action rpgs as well.
Racing- Marble Blast already did it, a marble racing game, what else can you think of?
Platform- Maybe one where you're a chef, and need to gather ingredients from an island to make meals for people.
Sports- Mutant League Football for the Sega Genesis was pretty interesting, and it was a sports game. You could decapitate people, and you were monsters.
Mario party- before it came out, there was nothing really like it. A board game for a console with minigames and an interactive map.
I want you to give your own ideas though, not stuff that's already been done, I was just using the above as examples of innovative ideas, dont give any ideas that you dont want everyone to know about though, because remember, this is public. ;)

Well that makes sense, I thought someone should have posted it by now.

How about discarding these common genres and get back to what truely constitutes "the computer game".
What is it about "the computer game" that inspires fun? What about mixing mediums, a 3d game that uses 2d in some sections. An action adventure that uses sport, or a murder mystery that uses strategy.
Maybe when we start using "the computer game" in new and interesting ways, we will lose the trend of clone wannabees and actually have some seriously "fun" games being made.
Peter Molyneux is a great example of a programmer that is trying to challenge the use of "the computer game".

I dont want to be a stick in the mud, but shouldn't we stray away from these firmly established genres? How about discarding these common genres and get back to what truely constitutes "the computer game".

How about a FPS, RTS, RPG? lol
I've got a lot of good game ideas in that area, but unfortunately flying solo in game dev is like trying to dogfight BF-109's in a Sopwith Camel.

As video game technology gets better I think we are going to be dealing with many ( we pretty much are there ) of the conventions of film - difference being the audience is active not passive.

Maybe we should ditch the fps, rts rpg genres completely and go back to the seven story lines from storytelling and film.Check this link for more info...
