HttpObject info

by Joshua "RegularX" Birk · in Torque Game Builder · 05/19/2005 (4:02 pm) · 24 replies

I'm trying to create an http post request and store the response as a string. httpObject looks like it might be at least the start, but it's a bit arcane.

Unfortunately ... all the references to httpObject this site are locked out to us T2D only type people (according to google). Any way I can get some more information or example code on it's usage? It's event setup and the way it stores it's responses seems odd just by looking the code.

Thanks Russell, for the first indication I'm not crazy on this one :)

Not sure if I understand the networking stuff enough to try and fix this one, but at least that's a place to start. I'd rather use the existing torque network code than adding my own.

Any updates to this? I'm working on a mac build of my game and my high scores system isn't working. I suspect it is due to the issue mentioned in this thread. The high scores work great in the Windows verison of my game. I'm going to try defining "later" and seeing what happens. I'll probably get errors. There is probably a reason this is commented out. Maybe this has been fixed in TGE 1.4 ?

Bloomin' heck. I was hoping to be able to use some of this functionality, too. :(
