What version is TGE?

by Andy Hawkins · in General Discussion · 05/18/2005 (11:28 pm) · 9 replies

I just bought TGE 1.3 but I see that apparently Warzone demo is running in 1.4. Is there an update I can grab from somewhere?

The latest official stable release is 1.3. However, if you pick up the latest HEAD from CVS, you'll have an early release (Release Candidate) of 1.4.

Anyone know when 1.4 is going to officially arrive? THere are a few bits and peices I'd like to integrate into my code base.

Officially, no, but unofficially, it should be sometime soon as it has been in CVS for quite a while and had been in testing internally well before that.

How does one get access to the cvs files,, i have tried Wincvs to get the 1.4 version myself, but when i looked in
the forums for the info they refer to an older version of Wincvs, plus theres also comits that say GG does'nt surport
the downloading by cvs.

I have also noticed on the ecipse main site that you can use it to connect to cvs too is this so ?

P.S
I saw this tread so i thought i would post here asking , after all i'm Just a Newbie looking for answers,
if you can i could really use the info on how to get the 1.4 version ...

I don't think it's going to be long until they release 1.4, so I would just wait until that happens. (GG are trying to move away from cvs iirc)

Use 1.3 and start making any art you need (if your making a game) then port over to 1.4 on it's release.

There are several places to get WinCVS. Here is one of them.

When 1.4 arrives will it be accompanied with a change list relative to 1.3? There are actually only a few specific things I want, including moving platforms, but it would be interesting to know what else has been changed.

I highly recommend the following clients:

for CVS repositories: Tortoise CVS
for SVN repositories: Tortoise SVN
