Notify when new posts checkbox misleading

Hey GG guys, could you change the checkbox for "Notify me when new replies are posted" on the thread reply pages to a link or a button? I just wrote a really long post, and then checked that box before I hit submit and I lost my whole post. I've done that so many times, either I'm an idiot or its a flawed design.

A checkbox is not supposed to cause a page reload, whereas an underlined link is. Perhaps I wouldn't be so trigger happy on clicking that before I've submitted my post if it were a link rather than a checkbox.

Or, if you're really ambitious, you could change it to a checkbox that doesn't reload the page like you've got on the New Thread page? (or keeps any text you've written in the reply to thread box after reload)

@Andy, turn on user data persistence in your browser, then you won't lose what you typed.

Hi Dreamer- thx for the advice, but I'm afriad I don't know where to turn that on in IE6. Is it some sort of cookie setting?

I have no idea last time I had to play with IE settings, Windows ME was the OS Dejour.
Sorry, maybe a google search would be helpful.

The user data persistence option is under Tools->Internet Options->Security->Custom Level. Scroll down to the bottom andthe option is a little ways up. Needless to say it doesn't fix anything, the checkbox still clears the edit box.

Ok well theoretically it should work, but like I said it's been awhile since I played around in IE settings.
