by Tom Spilman · in Artist Corner · 05/10/2005 (6:56 pm) · 8 replies

I should have posted this here sooner.

We finally did it and Torque Pipeline for Cartography Shop has gone gold! Extra super special thanks goes out to the GarageGames guys and the community of people here who tested it and provided feedback.

Check out the new page for the latest trial version and watch the video. If you have questions or comments you can post them to our forums or here... i monitor both of them fairly closely.

Also our dev screenshot will be up soon... keep an eye out for that.

Well done. Nice job, and all that. The Torque Pipeline for Cartography Shop is a more-than-satisfactory alternative to the venerable QuArK.

It needs a shorter name, though. TPFoCaS? (say "teepee focus") Naww. Torque Constru-- nope, that one's already claimed. We'll think of something.

@Adam - Thanks!

@Ray - Thanks man. We use "Torque Pipeline" for the most part, but maybe in hindsight we should have stuck with just "Pipeline". It's tough to pick a name when your product depends on two other products for it to have use. =)

Still lesson learned... our next tool (not Pipeline for CartShop5) has two syllable name.

Thanks and congrats for the Gold ! I've just bough it. I have received 2 email (Confirmation and receipt invoice). Will I receive another mail for the unlock code or it's one of the number on the invoice ?

Just wanted to thank you for the work on the product, Cartography shop is great to model in and if the cut brushes work the way as intended in CShop5 then it will probally be the easiest to use map maker. Your exporter works wonderfully, is well documented, and at I think it was 11.99 or 12.99 either way it was cheap enough to not even think twice about buying.

Great product, great price who can ask for more.

@Gilles - Yep here in just a sec you should recieve a code.

@David - Thanks. Cartshop5 will be a huge improvement over 4 and should pretty much make QuArK obsolete for Torque work. =)

@Tom
seems that you know Josh preety well...I just purchased the torque pipeline, and am preety amazed. Can you tell me if you know when CS5 will be coming out? and how much the upgrade/brand new pricing will be approximately. Also you mentioned a new tool you are working on for CS5, can you elaborate?

thanks

@kuni - I can't comment on a release date really... you'll have to ask Josh about that. I can say that i'm still several weeks away from having the exporter running on CS5. The new tool isn't for CS5... it's and editor/debugger for Torque script.
