Searching Blogs and Resources

I know this is how the website used to function, but with the addition of the Google Mini, and the addition of the blogs category we can search through, it simply makes common sense to do the following:

Please remove the .plans from the resources category. We can already search the .plans using the blogs selection in the pull-down box. This would make finding articles of interest infinitely better!

For example: I am trying to find all of the tutorials/resources concerning T2D, to make a T2D binder. I would rather not have the 10-20 .plans Melv May did about T2D when it was in development (albeit they are a good read).

I know these are both labelled as a resource within your database, but maybe some sort of text filtering on the title of the page, since all of the plans start with Plan: and all of the "legitimate" resources start with Code:

Maybe we can even add in some filtering for News as well? I just see the topic of Resource being far too wide spread, and even with the addition of the Google Mini it's still hard to find what you are looking for.

One other slight thing I just noticed:

Search the resources category for the word "physics"

First of all, you get 10 pages of results, although when you click next you only get 2 results on page 2, and then the results end (what happened to the rest of page 2, and the rest of the pages).

Also, only 2 of the results returned are garagegames results (and 1 of these is a subset of the other). Why is the Google Mini indexing devmaster as well?

When I search for "physics site:www.garagegames.com" I get a decent and logical set of results returned. Shouldn't this site:www.garagegames.com addition to the query be virtually automatic? If I wanted to search elsewhere I would have gone to Google.com in the first place.

All in all, good work, and at least the Google Mini is better than what we had before. I'm pretty excited about how this will make the task of finding information easier, but I feel it does need a bit more tweaking. Hopefully I gave you some ideas.

Devmaster is a GG sponsored site, iirc, that's probably why you're seeing indexed results from there too :)

Understandable, and I have no qualms w/ that. Just curious as to why devmaster.net's results are taking such a higher priority than GG's.

Try the two search terms I listed above "physics" and "physics site:www.garagegames.com" under the resources search option. The return results are drastically different, and not in garagegames.com's favor.
