Milestone 2

by Will Pall · in Torque Game Engine Advanced · 04/30/2005 (10:01 pm) · 14 replies

I'm not pushing or complaining or anything, I'm just wondering. I know y'all had the terrain somewhat working at the last games convention, so when will we be seeing the next milestone? The convention was a while ago, and I just wanted to know how it's coming. Thanks

My wild educated guess... this month or maybe early June with TSE fully released by late June - early July 2005. Well, according to Jeff anyway. ;)

Now hopefully Jeff doesn't mailbomb me for finding that info. X-O

"our goal is to complete TSE by early Summer, 2005" ... woohoo!!

as always, the act of quoting a (even a vague) deadline can cause pain and suffering. >:P

... checking for milestone status daily already seems to cause pain and suffering.

I completely understand why release dates are not announced and I'm all for that. Maybe confirming when something will *not* be released would work. .. like.. *not* this week.. *not* this month, etc. Only referring to relatively short time intervals. I'm thinking if we know it's *not* this week, I don't *have* to obsessivly check the site on a daily basis until next week. :D Just trying to limit the "pain and suffering". ;)

Yes, I understand this is crazy talk but sometimes crazy ideas promote sane thinking. :)

That's actually not a bad idea... I kinda like that. "Not coming out today!"

Of course, then we'd have remember to post it every day/week or else people might start worrying even more... ;)

@Ben,

Just have Rick write a little php forum bot that automagicly posts a thread every day indicating

"TSE will not be done today...."

Yeah.. I guess I was wrong about "crazy ideas promoting sane thinking."

Though a php forum bot automatically posting a weekly or monthly thread may actually work. A daily thing accomplishes nothing. The original idea was to be used as an answer to the many people starting "When's it going to be done?" posts. Quite simple really.

So, um, Kevin...when is it going to be done?

No Kevin... The correct answer is: "When it's Done. (tm)". :)
