Hello All,
This is a general announcment/plug I have completed and launched the prelinary design for my site nothinglikeitgames.com. The reason i'm telling you all this is that on the site I want to feature articles about game development as well as previews and reviews of the latest games. I have some early reviews up already but i need way more content. To that end if you have a game that you want talked about please don't hesitate to email me at the adresses listed. Also as this site is still in its infacy i would love feedback on ways i can improve the site and it's design. Vive Le Indie! Oh by the way.... the site is http://www.nothinglikeitgames.com

I'm using dreamweaver i'm a little new to it... is there anything like the shared borders features in dreamwever like the one in Frontpage?

I suggest doing HTML coding only in notepad, it's the best program for HTML out there. :)

Ha I figed it out the lazy man's way just merge the hell out of your tables until you get the look you're going for. also I've made a few more corections(still no major images) and tweaks here and there and posted my first postmortem feel free to make any suggestions on how i can continue to make the site better. Also, How can i convince webmasters to link back to me.

There are 2 general methods:
1) Pay them
2) Have really interesting content that they would want to point their readers to
If you're going to approach webmasters and ask for a link back, make sure you pitch them a good reason why they should, and don't forget to ask nicely. Additionally, expect that most will either refuse you or not even respond.
It's not all doom and gloom though. If you have good content, the links will come.

Also what exactly does a unique hit mean in regards to your web site's statistics?

Yea i guess you're right george. okay i got a new issue. I have content on my site but i need a way to gain feed back from my readers (assuming there are any.) Are there any tutorials about making reply functions or forums on webpages for dreamweaver? is this posibble in html or will i have to use dreamweaver......Also what exactly does a unique hit mean in regards to your web site's statistics?

Forums, contact forms, etc. are going to require some kind of server scripting like PHP.

A unique hit is a hit from a single source as opposed to referencing all the hits the server takes for that source to download images, css, etc.Forums, contact forms, etc. are going to require some kind of server scripting like PHP.

Secondly, you want to get some Web Design Templates, you can get them online I'm sure, but you can also get them on ebay for like $10 for 500-1000 or more. Ebay is the home of cheap crap on cds. I'm sure you'll find one out of all those that you like and can use.
Thirdly, a little redundant with the -ly, you might want to consider "Professor Teaches" cds, they have one for Dreamweaver, and they have other stuff for Website Design, html, etc.
Next... I dont remember... Oh yes, you want forms and CGI, I would try CGIspy.com its part of the danoworld network, and they have a lot of good sites.
If you want to get increased hits, its all about the links, ask people to include your links on their site, and traffic will be bumped up and your search priority will too on some search engines.
If you'd like, I have web design templates on cd, if you want them, just let me know.
Also if you want to run your own server with a static IP, Abyss Web Server is a good one and you can get it at www.download.com.

edit: I used to have over a hundred from searching the web but it seems like they are impossible to find now.

Alright, email me at AceRectifier@hotmail.com with your address, and I'll send you a copy. I'd send them in an email, but they exceed the maximum attatchment size, unless you have AIM, and I can file transfer them to you. Either way is fine by me.
