Music for game

Does anyone know of a program (preferably free) that will let me compose music for the current project I'm working on? The majority of music will be in the techno/dance genre so even something that just has basic beats I can mix would be great. Any links or advice is appreciated. Thanks

You can give Impulse Tracker a try, although there is a Windows tracker available that might be more appealing to you.

The Windows one is called Modplug Tracker, and can be found at:
www.modplug.com/

The DOS one, which I have been using for the past 6 years and have been creating electronic music with, can be found at:
www.noisemusic.org/it/

My mp3.com site features music that I created entirely under Impulse Tracker. This is an example of what you can potentially achieve using any of the aforementionned programs. You can download my music for free at:

Buzz Tracker (very flexible softsynth that also allows tracking .wavs like the ordinary trackers do, just that this one lets you pipe these through filters and effects just like the synthesized part, great results and FREE): Download here

Also there's a site I personally use whenever I want to find out if theres a tool to do this or that audio related, which is Maz Sound

hope this helps
