If its any consilation, by the time the Hello World series of tutorials is done it'll be practixly a book itsslf.
The series of tutorials starts with a 3 line script file and from there step by step builds an entire game in Torque2D. You just need to have patience. I'm doing this in my free time. At the moment my local docs are about 30 pages long and i'm only starting. I wouldn't be suprised if by the time the entire series is done that it ends up being several hundred pages of docs.

Writing a book is a massive undertaking. One that Melv and Josh probably don't have time for.If its any consilation, by the time the Hello World series of tutorials is done it'll be practixly a book itsslf.

though I do understand the want for a "complete" book style resource... As my teams game progresses I am documenting things with something like that in mind, depending on the possiblities I may try and organize and compile it to suit a book style resource... if theres enough interest as well I could spend even more time working on a professional quality book (or e-book), writing is one of my passions... lol even if its technical or creative development writing.

Right now I have 8 tutorials out... the biggest is 88 pages, in total theres probably 300+ pages of documentation (if not more- not including the FAQ either)... as well as John's growing tutotials... plus as TDN gets implemented access to all of these will be improved... though I do understand the want for a "complete" book style resource... Yea cool. I have a somewhat special need because of my disablity (physical) I am limited to time sitting at the screen. Need something I can read laying down. Which I think the temp solution is just to start printing out some stuff.

But it is awesome that we have almost a book's worth of documentation on T2D already, counting the stuff all you guys have done. Woo!

I'll make it a goal to get #2 and #3 done by sometime next week at the latest.

#2 is on its way. I've been sidetracked lately with other projects and since #2 source was released already with lots of comments I didin't feel like I had to hurry. IOW I got lazy :)I'll make it a goal to get #2 and #3 done by sometime next week at the latest.

Am I the only one that noticed that the amazon link is for 3D game programming and that the text specific to T2D is a different color than the other text?

Maybe we should, I don't know, let them finish making T2D before we start asking for things like books and so forth?
