Porn (& Violence) in Games Rant

This rant or opinion came about from the following post so please feel free to read it for background

and i thought it might be interesting to give some food for thought regrading sex and violence in games and a few things for people to think about, consider and discuss.
It comes in two parts, but it's well worth the read in my opiney ;-), enjoy

Sex will often bring up ethics and morals more then the standard violence where exposed to everyday.
But then again, a kid can't buy a porn mag (legally) but they can happily buy a paper for a fraction of the price and see a womans mah-jong's in the same way?
So i don't know if sex gets that real a hard deal in terms of ethics and morals in these times.
But none the less, there is a lot of hypocrisy when it comes to violence and sex.
The funny thing is, people are always quick to say that good causes, charity events and educational things have a positive affect on people, but when it comes to violence/sex or general commercial endevours, it's nothing to do with them, it can't have a negative effect, it's up to the parents to be parents and not the adults making the stuff blah, blah, blah. i also find this hypocritical, so i guess it works both ways! The ways of the world are generally hypocritical, that's why i say be 'in the world' and 'not of it' ;)
Regarding porn of any form as a medium (games, mags, videos etc), it's not something i try to watch or advacate. Why not, because i'm a nun, no, because i'm really feminst chick pretending to be a male, nop
just because i wouldn't want my little sis (10 years old now, getting big fast) exposed to it or doing it as a so-called career, nor my mum, older sister, younger cousins, aunties or any female i know and love.
In this respect, i therefore can't enjoy and/or represent it just because it's (hopefully) people i don't know and love, as i would be the hypocrite i mentioned above, no?
Also, my goal (or one of them) is to make a fairer playing field and have more females in gaming, and research as well as chats with women i've had shows that these kind of fhm content in game, as well as other similar content, puts other females off games.
I think women have something special to open & reveal for the industry. A new perspective on an overly male industry that we haven't/don't see yet.

Funny thing is iwas exposed ot R rated moveis and shit liek that i was playing freeking turok before i turned 18 and im not a vilolent mofo

Oh i forgot i like Midhirs remark about parents jsut being to lazy to acualy teach their kid. It is very true we use tv to baby sit our kids or jsut very young teens geting knocked up and just being their usualy imature self

Well maybe he shouldnt be having sex, but would you rather he do it without condoms, and so he doesnt want to smell like shit on a date. Big deal.
And as i said before. No matter what lifestyle, what religion, your child has or will look at it. Love is natural and you need to let them love. My brother wasnt allowed to date and is now 18 and dating a 14 year old because he hasnt matured. Dating developes maturity and character.

In my opinion i think people should rather see porn than a head being blown off. (also note this is not combatting anyones post). So you would rather teach your kid how to kid and mass murder hundreds instead of showing them how to love? We all find out one way or another. And also. Dont say you kid hasnt seen it. If their 10 or older they HAVE seen porn. How do i know? Well obviously your on the internet. Because no matter how you raise them, they will start watching porn, or having sex, drinking, or doing drugs. And when its most dangerous is when they cant moderate themselves. EVERYTHING IS SAFE WITH MODERATION. A while ago my friend got his locker searched. They reported him. Here was the phone conversation"Mam, your son has some things in his locker"

There's always going to be a lot of controversy around sex and violence. Each generation re-evaluates both, setting a new bar in a different location. Love is natural, and so is violence. Why shouldn't a kid be having sex?? Why shouldn't high-school kids be beating each other senseless?? These questions are asked time and time again, answered in different ways by different people. One thing that is for sure is that it's a grave mistake to say that it's simply "not right". If you need it to be explained why saying 'it's just not right' it inadequate, I won't respond to you, so don't ask. Now I'm not stating any real view here, more making an observation.AND just to set my bar, my favorite film when I was 7 was The Terminator.

The recent video games with VERY real shader gfx with blood and human body parts are really disturbing to me... I would hate the idea that my kids will be smashing heads with a pipe watching spills of blood, etc... They just may want try it in real life somehow... that's not good...
though, i dont find anything wrong with exposed naked human body - encient romans have a lot of art of it and everybody's happy... It's just natural beauty... and i've never seen SEX as action in games, only nudity...
Another thing when a bold killer kills a prostitute in her own bath with uber real graphics - that kind of "sex and violence", you know...
