GarageGames, on a box, @ Best Buys!

by Rex · in General Discussion · 04/11/2005 (4:59 pm) · 7 replies

All true. Was gawking at HDTV's at Best today, and wandered thru the games, and out of the corner of my eye, what do I see? A boxed copy of MarbleBlaster, with a prominent GG splash on the back. Good job. At first, I thought it was a clone/rip, I didn't think there was an 'R' on the end, but I guess not...I picked up the box, turned it over and saw the credit.

If i am not mistaken, it is quite old.

Someone in another thread mentioned that they saw it at the dollar store for, well , a dollar.

Unless this is a new release.

We distributed the game to box channels through eGames, but for some reason their marketing department decided that "Blaster" was a more marketable title. We also distributed Chain Reaction through them, but they changed the name to "Gadgets"

Man, that would piss me off if someone wanted to change the name of my game. I'd tell em to get stuffed ;)

If they put it in stores and give me money for it they could call my game (almost) whatever they want

Yes, Marble Blast is now bundled on all consumer apples (iMac, iBook, and mini). Not on the PowerBook, PowerMac, or eMac, though.
